East Aurora, NY - Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) has decided that its METEORITE satellite bus could use a little more pep, announcing a new High Delta-V configuration for the ESPA-class platform. Because why settle for 'just orbiting' when you can 'orbit with attitude'? The new setup promises greater flexibility, more maneuvering capability, and higher thrust for missions that demand, well, a lot of moving around.

The High Delta-V METEORITE is basically the sports car of satellite buses, ideal for propulsion-intensive missions that require high-energy transfers, large orbital plane changes, or frequent station-keeping. It's tailored for scenarios where mobility and velocity are critical - think tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and space domain awareness. In other words, if you need to zip around space and keep an eye on things, this is your ride.

The propulsion system is cooked up in Moog's facility in Niagara Falls, NY, which is expanding its dedicated clean-room space by more than 80 percent to meet the growing demand for Moog thrusters and propulsion systems. That'll speed up assembly, integration, and testing, because apparently there's a rush on space hardware. The full bus is integrated near Denver, which can handle dozens of spacecraft per year.

“Our customers are asking for spacecraft that can move farther, respond faster, and carry increasingly capable payloads,” said Bob McArthur, Moog Space Vehicles General Manager, in a statement that sounds like it was ripped from a sci-fi movie pitch. “These enhancements reflect Moog’s continued investment in scalable, resilient spacecraft platforms that keep pace with today’s rapidly evolving space environment.”

Several METEORITE buses are already on orbit, supporting national security missions, and all are built on TRL-9 components (that's NASA-speak for 'proven, not just theoretical'). So, if you need a satellite that can hustle, Moog's got you covered - just don't expect it to parallel park.
