A Dutch court has told U.S. fossil fuel company Energy Transfer that it cannot simply wave away a lawsuit from Greenpeace International, handing the environmental group a small victory in its ongoing, globe-spanning legal brawl over the Dakota Access Pipeline. The case in the Netherlands is the flip side of a U.S. drama where Energy Transfer won a staggering jury verdict against Greenpeace in North Dakota last year over the 2016-2017 indigenous-led protests. Now the two parties are locked in an unusual and bitter dispute that's proceeding on parallel tracks on both sides of the Atlantic - because apparently, one courtroom wasn't enough to contain this level of acrimony.
