Hark1karan, a Londoner with Punjabi roots, snapped this gem in March 2021 while scouting for his short documentary, 'Zimmers of Southall'. He was looking for everyday people doing something a little different, and boy, did he find it. The subjects: two brothers, Rav and Inderjit, who fix cars for a living, and their father, a man who clearly passed down more than just the family name - he passed down a passion for all things with an engine.

The story goes: Hark1karan popped by to meet Rav, who had a dirt bike, and they were trying to capture a wheelie (because why not?). Then Inderjit rolled up on his quad bike, used for off-road shenanigans. Their father, inside, explained how his love for bikes and cars had infected his sons. Their mother, in true Punjabi hospitality fashion, offered tea and snacks - because no family visit is complete without a carb-loading session.

It was then that Hark1karan had a brilliant idea: get the whole family in a group photo. The third brother was unfortunately MIA, but the dad wheeled out his own bike to complete the portrait. The result? A family portrait that feels natural, warm, and welcoming - not forced, unless you count the revving engines.
