In a fight that lasted roughly the same amount of time it takes to microwave a frozen burrito, Anthony Joshua managed to turn certain humiliation into a highlight reel. The heavyweight star, who is scheduled to fight Tyson Fury in November (contracts signed, venue TBD, so you know, solid), was knocked down twice in the first round by Kristian Prenga in Jeddah early Sunday morning. Prenga, a heavy-handed but unproven foe, had Joshua on wobbly legs and apparently one punch away from derailing the mega-fight. But then the second round happened. Joshua, perhaps remembering he is a two-time world champion, unleashed a ramrod left jab and brutal hooks that left Prenga crumpled in the ropes like a discarded gym bag. The referee waved it off. "The maddest five minutes of boxing I've ever seen," said Carl Frampton on analysis duties. Joshua, fighting for the first time since a car accident in Nigeria that killed two of his friends, was visibly emotional afterward. "I can't be stopped, man - I can't be denied," he said, before asking if Tyson Fury was in the room.
