TechCrunch Startup Battlefield is making its way Down Under, partnering with Stripe to find Australia's most electrifying early-stage startups. On August 19, eight brave companies will take the stage at Stripe Tour Sydney to pitch live to investors, press, and the tech community. The spoils: three prizes, with the grand winner scoring an automatic ticket to TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 in San Francisco (October 13-15). Because nothing says 'startup success' like a free trip to the city where rent costs more than your Series A.

But the real secret sauce? The judges. Startup Battlefield has launched over 1,700 companies globally, including Dropbox, Cloudflare, Discord, and Trello. Alumni have collectively raised $32 billion and produced 250+ exits. Last time in Sydney, winner HealthMatch is now valued at over $25 million with a million patients. Coincidence? Probably not.

Meet the trio tasked with separating unicorns from also-rans: Jasmine Liew from Stripe, who knows the payment infrastructure that turns visions into revenue-generating machines; Brendan Hill, a venture partner and angel investor who actually writes checks (and therefore asks the painful questions); and Jarron Aizen, a founder who's been in the trenches and carries both wins and scars from building in Australia.

The grand prize winner gets $15,000 in Stripe fee credits and a slot in Startup Battlefield 200 at Disrupt 2026. Second place gets $5,000 in credits; third gets $2,000. But all finalists get face time with judges, press attention, and access to the Stripe Tour Sydney audience of founders, operators, and investors. Because sometimes the real prize is the networking you did along the way.
