TAMPA, Fla. - Kepler Communications, the Canadian operator that's been hitching rides on other people's rockets like a cosmic freeloader, has finally decided to get its own dedicated launch. The company announced Aug. 10 it has booked its first dedicated mission on Rocket Lab's upcoming Neutron rocket, part of multiple launches slated for 2028 as it ramps up optical connectivity, on-orbit compute, and hosted payload capacity. Previously, Kepler satellites shared rides on rockets such as SpaceX's Falcon 9 - because why buy the rocket when you can rent a seat?
