In a display of football so dominant it might as well have been a training session, Clàudia Pina scored four goals as Barcelona dismantled Real Madrid 7-0 on Sunday, extending their lead at the top of Liga F to five points.

The 25-year-old Spain international was in lethal form, and the match at Camp Nou - attended by over 40,000 fans - was pushed back two hours due to torrential rain in Catalonia. Because nothing says "Clásico" like a weather delay.

Pina opened the scoring after just four minutes, breezing into the area and finishing neatly. Barcelona, who have won the league seven seasons running, controlled the ball so thoroughly that Madrid's players probably considered filing a missing persons report.

Pina struck again in the 28th minute, polishing off a rebound after Ewa Pajor's shot was blocked. She completed her hat-trick a few minutes later by blasting into the top corner. Because why stop at two when you can have three?

Before Madrid could even process what had happened, Caroline Graham Hansen skipped past a defender and slotted home. Pina then added her fourth with a blast inside the near post before the interval, as Barça yet again pulled apart Madrid's defence like a child unwrapping a present.

The fifth came early in the second half through Polish striker Pajor, because apparently seven wasn't enough. Three-time Ballon d'Or winner Aitana Bonmatí came on for the final 30 minutes as she continues her return to full fitness following a broken leg.

Swiss midfielder Sydney Schertenleib rounded off the rout late on with a stunning seventh from long range. Real Madrid have now beaten Barça just once in 25 meetings across all competitions. Madrid's women's team began in 2020 after taking over CD Tacon, which is a polite way of saying they're still the new kids on the block - and it shows.
