Nintendo recently announced a new pricing policy that knocks $10 off digital versions of future first-party titles exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. Splatoon Raiders, a spinoff featuring the same third-person paint-splatting gameplay in new locales (not a sequel to Splatoon 3, because why make things simple?), launches July 23rd for $49.99 digitally or $59.99 for the physical edition. Amazon and Walmart, however, are offering the cartridge version for $49.94 - a few cents cheaper than the digital version, proving that physical media still has a price advantage, if you squint.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, a side-scrolling adventure with a gorgeous storybook art style, arrives May 21st. The physical version normally costs $69.99, but Amazon and Walmart are offering it for $59.88, matching the digital edition’s price. Given that prices on many tech and gaming products are increasing, it’s nice to see discounts on physical Switch 2 games that don’t require a treasure map to find. If you’re looking for other deals, Amazon’s weeklong Gaming Week sale has plenty more - just don’t expect them to be this paint-splattered.
Update, May 1st: Amazon has now matched Walmart’s preorder promotion on both titles, because competition is still a thing, apparently.
