In a move that will surprise absolutely no one who has ever looked at a map, Hilton has signed agreements to open three new lifestyle properties in Southeast Asia: two in Thailand and one in the Maldives. Because if there's one thing the region needed, it was more hotels.

The hospitality giant will add a Curio Collection by Hilton in Phuket, and two Tapestry Collection by Hilton properties in Chiang Mai and the Maldives. The Phuket outpost, Andamanda Voyage, Curio Collection by Hilton, will be nestled within the Andamanda Waterpark complex in Kathu District, featuring 246 keys and a planned opening at the end of this year. Because nothing says 'relaxing getaway' like a waterpark.

Meanwhile, in northern Thailand's Chiang Mai, Hilton will introduce the city's first Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The 65-room hotel will be strategically positioned near cultural landmarks, historic temples, weekend walking streets, and local markets - basically, all the stuff you actually came to see. The new Thai properties will join the recently opened Kahavadi Chiang Rai, Curio Collection by Hilton, and will sit alongside Canopy Bangkok Sukhumvit and Nivata Koh Samui, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, both due to open later this year.

Not to be outdone, Hilton is also bringing the Tapestry Collection brand to the Maldives. The Coco de Mer Maldives, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is scheduled to open in June 2027 - yes, 2027, so you have plenty of time to save up. The 75-key property will boast dining concepts, a wellness center, and recreational options including a dedicated sea sports center and pickleball courts. Because nothing says 'luxury island escape' like pickleball.

Hilton Southeast Asia development vice-president Maria Ariizumi said, with a straight face, "We continue to see strong interest from owners in Southeast Asia for lifestyle brands, supported by solid market fundamentals and evolving traveler demand." Translation: People like beaches and temples, and we like money. "These signings allow us to broaden our presence in high-demand destinations, where we see clear opportunities to scale our award-winning brands alongside trusted local partners and unlock new opportunities in both resort and cultural destinations."

This news comes on the heels of Hilton debuting its Curio Collection in India last month with the opening of Slohh by Roach in Bengaluru. Because apparently, no corner of the globe is safe from a new hotel.
