Three people are dead in a Sydney home, and police say they believe the victims are the parents and brother of a 32-year-old man now in custody. Because nothing says family bonding like an alleged triple homicide.

New South Wales police arrived at the house in Rosemeadow, in Sydney’s south-west, on Sunday just after 1:30 a.m. following reports of an assault. Officers found a 65-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man dead at the scene. A 64-year-old man was discovered with critical injuries, treated by paramedics, but later died in hospital. They are believed to be the parents and brother of the man in custody.

Supt Grant Healey, commander at Campbelltown city police area command, said it appeared those involved were all family members. A third son, aged 30, was also injured during the incident and taken to Liverpool hospital, where he was treated and discharged. Because apparently one sibling got a pass.

Police suspect more than one type of weapon may have been involved based on the injuries, though no firearms were used. Healey described the scene as “very bloody,” noting that “blunt force trauma is always horrendous for people to confront, and any edge weapon attack is always horrendous to confront.” He added that the family wasn’t known to police, and “there was no way for us to predict this type of thing was going to occur.”

This article was updated on 3 May 2026 to correct the age of one of the men who died after clarification from NSW police. Because even in tragedy, accuracy matters.
