The third day of the women's Test at Lord's is unfolding with all the drama of a slow-motion car crash, but with more tea breaks. India, already leading by 269 runs at the start of play, have stretched that to a commanding 355, because why not pile on? England's bowlers toiled valiantly, with Sophie Ecclestone bowling a mammoth 13-over spell - the cricketing equivalent of running a marathon but being told you're still late.

Lauren Bell had a moment of near-glory, clean bowling Yastika Bhatia with the first ball of the day, only for the bails to stay put like a stubborn cat. Bhatia then promptly smacked Bell for four, because cricket is a cruel mistress. Amy Jones, meanwhile, is having a rough time behind the stumps, equalling her own record for most byes conceded in a Test innings (23), most of which came from Bell's wayward deliveries. As the commentator noted, 'no chance for Jones on either occasion.'

On the bright side, a brand new helmet was brought out for Tammy Beaumont, fresh out of the box. So that's something. The lead is now 355, and England need a miracle. Or at least a few wickets. Preferably before lunch.
