Federal authorities in Miami arrested social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate on Saturday, the US Marshals Service confirmed, presumably putting a temporary pause on their lucrative career in toxic masculinity. The warrant was sealed, but a source familiar with the matter said the arrest was on an extradition request from the UK.

The Crown Prosecution Service later dropped the mic with a statement detailing charges against Andrew Tate: seven counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 additional charges for offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography. Tristan Tate faces one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The alleged crimes date back to July 2010 through August 2017, according to the CPS. Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS's special crime division, noted that the charging decisions followed a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police, bringing the total number of alleged victims to seven.

The brothers, who have millions of followers and a penchant for hypermasculinity, already face 21 criminal charges in a separate UK case and were charged in Romania in 2022 with human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized criminal group. They have denied all wrongdoing. A high court judge recently threw out their legal claim to know the names of their female accusers, which is probably for the best - they'd likely just use them for content.
