Nikita Bier, the serial entrepreneur who briefly served as the head of product at X (formerly Twitter), has decided he's had enough of the 24/7 grind and is demoting himself to what he calls his 'natural state: a poster.' Bier, who took the reins in July 2025, announced his departure on Wednesday, noting he'll continue to advise the company while presumably firing off tweets from the comfort of his couch.

During his tenure, Bier claims to have overseen the launch of 30 new products while 'protecting the integrity of the town square.' That's an interesting way to describe a period that included the Grok chatbot's brief but memorable phase as 'MechaHitler,' and its continued use by X users to generate nonconsensual nude imagery, including child sexual abuse material, which has landed the platform in some legal hot water. But hey, 30 products!

'X is, and will remain, the most important communication technology in history,' Bier wrote, in the kind of statement that makes you wonder if he's been drinking the Kool-Aid or just knows his audience. 'But running this app is a 24/7 job and it's now time for me to take a breather.'

One can only imagine the breather involves a lot of doomscrolling and possibly a Twitter Blue subscription to get that coveted blue checkmark. Bier, a Lightspeed venture partner, will now return to his roots as a prolific poster, presumably with fewer product launch meetings and more time to argue with strangers about the merits of pineapple on pizza.
