Newegg is currently offering a bundle that pairs Microsoft's wireless Xbox controller (in black) with a $50 digital Xbox gift card for $80. Since the controller alone typically runs $50 to $60 depending on the color, this effectively drops its price to $30 - or, if you prefer a more generous interpretation, you're paying full price for the controller and getting a hefty discount on the gift card. Either way, the math works out to "good deal," which is not a phrase we use lightly around here.

The controller in question works with Xbox or PC, supports Bluetooth connectivity, and makes a solid wireless gamepad for a Steam Deck or any other gaming handheld you might dock to a TV. It lacks Hall effect sticks - a minor tragedy for the stick-drift-anxious among us - but it's the best midrange controller Microsoft has produced yet, with a premium-feeling, comfortable design, a headphone jack, and good battery life via swappable AA batteries.

Meanwhile, Corsair is running its own bundle: the VANGUARD 96 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard with Pacific Blue keycaps pre-installed, plus a complete Matcha Green keycap set, for $129.99 from September 21 through September 27 - down from $189.99, a savings of $60. It packs a space-saving 96% layout (number pad and arrow keys included), CORSAIR MLX Plasma mechanical switches, an integrated color LCD screen, a multifunction rotary dial, hot-swappable switch support, 8,000Hz hyper-polling, and Stream Deck integration. Because apparently one keyboard color scheme is no longer sufficient.

Elsewhere in Verge-approved deals: the Aurzen tri-fold mini projector, normally $299, is $249.99 at Best Buy for the rest of the day. Verge deputy editor Thomas Ricker tested it across all sorts of scenarios in his review and found it surprisingly bright despite its small size, with easy Android or iPhone connectivity for mirroring games and locally stored content (or things streamed via Plex or similar). Caveat: DRM-protected shows and movies require Aurzen's pricey CastPlay Pro dongle, currently $105. The USB-C chargeable projector is a great gadget - just don't expect it to respect your Netflix queue without paying extra.

On the laptop front, Acer's Chromebook Plus Spin 514 is $499 at Best Buy, down from $749, with the discount expiring later today. It's one of the best, most well-rounded models available - not a high-end Googlebook, but a pretty solid laptop. Specs include a 14-inch 1200p touchscreen with a foldable 2-in-1 design, MediaTek Kompanio Ultra processor, 12GB RAM, 256GB SSD storage, and Wi-Fi 7 support. As a Chromebook Plus, it includes one year of free access to Google AI Pro, which grants 5TB of cloud storage, YouTube Premium Lite, Google Home Premium, and other perks.

Finally, Amazon keeps cutting the price on Ugreen's Nexode Pro multi-port wall charger. Originally $89.99, it has almost never sold for that amount - it briefly hit $49.99 after launch and has only reached its current $59.99 once before. It's the kind of gadget anyone with multiple USB-C chargeable devices should own, topping out at 140W when using a single USB-C port and divvying up 160W of total power across five plugged-in gadgets at once.
