VSCO has decided that the world needs another photo editing app, and this one is specifically designed for photographers who enjoy paying $500 a year for the privilege of editing photos in bulk. The new Studio Pro app is rolling out today on iOS, with a macOS version promised for later this year, according to Bloomberg.

At launch, Studio Pro offers batch editing, style matching from a reference image, and sharing through VSCO Galleries. Future updates will include RAW image support, advanced export options, and the ability to adjust aspect ratios - features that are apparently too complex to include at launch but will be added later, because that's how software works now.

The company says the app is designed for high-volume editing projects like "weddings, portraits, events, sports, school photography, and other large-scale photoshoots" - basically anything that involves more than 12 photos at a time.

The $500 per year VSCO One subscription, launching later this month, is positioned as an alternative to Adobe's Creative Cloud, which costs about the same amount. For your money, you get Studio Pro, Capture, Galleries, Workspace, Sites, AI Lab, Canvas, and a Freelance Photographer business mentorship program - because nothing says "I'm a serious photographer" like paying Adobe-level prices for a VSCO subscription.
