Detective Grimoire is back, and he's brought his dry wit and a submarine full of dead bodies. In The Mermaid Mask, the long-awaited new entry in the stylish comedy whodunnit series, our casually competent hero and his sarcastic sidekick Sally are summoned to solve the locked-room murder of submarine captain Magnus Mortuga. Players click around cluttered rooms, listen to hilarious commentary, and drag objects for closer inspection. For Nintendo Switch 2 owners, the mouse controls are actually useful - though not exactly ergonomic for marathon sleuthing sessions. The sequel builds on the formula from Secret of the Swamp and Tangle Tower, and while there's still room for improvement, it's worth the seven-year wait.
