Space Propulsion Company Discovers Seattle, Where Aerospace Engineers Apparently Live
Agile Space Industries opens a 5,470-square-foot office in Bellevue, Washington, because apparently Seattle has aerospace engineers, a fact previously known only to Seattle.
BELLEVUE, Wash., Oct. 15, 2026 - Agile Space Industries, a provider of in-space chemical propulsion solutions, has expanded into the Seattle metropolitan area with a new office in Bellevue, Washington. In a development that will surprise absolutely no one familiar with the aerospace industry, the company has noticed that Seattle has a lot of aerospace people in it.
The new office, located at Sunset North in Bellevue, spans 5,470 square feet and will initially accommodate 7 employees, with the capacity to grow to approximately 30. Chief Technology Officer Jake Mills will be based at the Bellevue office, presumably because someone has to be.
"Seattle has a remarkable concentration of aerospace talent, innovative companies and organizations advancing the space industry," said Mills, stating the regional equivalent of noting that Hollywood has a few actors. "Establishing a presence here allows us to tap into that expertise, strengthen industry relationships and build on the capabilities we're developing across Agile to support our customers and their missions."
The Bellevue office will focus on engineering and program management, supporting the development and delivery of advanced propulsion systems for government and commercial space missions. As the team grows, Agile expects to broaden its technical expertise and support an expanding range of propulsion programs - a sentence that could describe literally any growing company, but in this case is specifically about propulsion.
Beyond engineering talent, the Seattle region offers an established network of aerospace companies, industry partners and investors. Agile's presence in this ecosystem creates opportunities to strengthen customer relationships, develop new partnerships and engage with the broader business and investment community. In other words, they're going to network. At a 5,470-square-foot office.
The expansion also creates opportunities for experienced aerospace professionals looking to work on complex propulsion challenges in a collaborative, hands-on engineering environment. Agile's teams contribute to programs spanning early development through qualified flight hardware - which is the aerospace equivalent of saying you'll be involved from "we have an idea" to "it's in space and we can't fix it now."
The Bellevue office joins Agile's headquarters in Durango, Colorado, and operations in Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. Together, these locations support Agile's growing capabilities in propulsion design, manufacturing and testing, positioning the company to serve an expanding range of commercial and government space customers. Four locations, one mission: making sure spacecraft can move around once they're up there, which is generally considered important.
