Selena Gomez and her mother are facing a lawsuit over their mental health startup, Wondermind, with investors claiming they were left holding the bag - and the bill. The plaintiffs, who invested nearly $1.2 million, accuse Gomez of securities fraud and breach of contract, alleging the startup promised big things and delivered, well, nothing.

The lawsuit claims Wondermind failed to meet its commitments without telling investors, and that Gomez reneged on her promise to market the company. According to the complaint, the partnerships didn't exist, the initiatives never materialized, and the app was never built. For three years, while the company quietly collapsed, no one said a word to the investors funding the collapse.

The investors say they were kept in the dark until a September 2025 story from The Cut exposed the company's troubles. Wondermind, which launched in 2021 to offer daily mental health resources, didn't respond to requests for comment - probably too busy not marketing.

The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments and legal fees, which seems like a reasonable ask given they paid for a front-row seat to a startup's slow-motion train wreck.
