British avant-techno producer Actress (real name: Darren Cunningham) is back with his first solo album in two years, because apparently the world needed more experimental beats to confuse your grandparents. Titled *Radical Frame*, the album drops September 18 via Ninja Tune, and it comes with a single called “Overchord” that has a music video so trippy you'll question whether you accidentally ate a gummy. The video, directed by Anna van der Velde, features white rooms, puppeteering contraptions, deconstructed sculptures, and enough flying paper to make a paper shredder jealous. Watch it below, if you dare.

*Radical Frame* marks Cunningham’s 10th solo studio album under the Actress moniker - not counting 2018’s *Lageos* with the London Contemporary Orchestra or his collaborative album with Suzanne Ciani, *Concrète Waves*, from earlier this year. Because why stop at nine when you can have ten? The eight-song tracklist includes two guest appearances: CasIsDead on the previously released single “Live by You,” and Rainy Miller on the album closer “Sheets.”

In November, Actress will perform at Pitchfork Music Festival London - not Paris, as a previous version of this story embarrassingly claimed. (Correction: It’s London, because apparently even music journalists can get geography wrong.) This year’s lineup also features Avalanches, Ear, Tortoise, Aja Monet, Los Thuthanaka, Olof Dreijer, Noname, Radio Dept, and many more. Tickets are on sale now, so you can witness the chaos in person.
